Welcome to the Website for the Sonoma County Employer Advisory Council

Sonoma County

Sonoma County EAC is a partnership between the California Employment Development Department (EDD) and the business community. The membership represents a cross section of business and industry. The EAC is committed to assisting employers in conducting their business more effectively, providing information on employment related issues, and enhancing the partnership between EDD and the private sector.

Sonoma County is a member of the California Employer Advisory Council (CEAC), which is a nonprofit, statewide umbrella organization for over 50 Employer Advisory Councils throughout the state. The CEAC provides links between employers, EACs, the Employment Development Department and the U.S. Department of Labor. While Sonoma County EAC works with the business community at a local level, the CEAC represents all California EACs at the state level. It tackles state and federal employment issues, communicates with legislative representatives and gains grass root support on legislation.

Membership dues are $70.00 a year per company. This entitles any employees to attend seminars and events at a reduced fee. Sonoma County EAC offers bi-monthly breakfast meetings and a yearly half-day Labor Law Seminar in October.

2019 Annual Employment and Labor Law Update Seminar

Join us to hear the latest employment-related developments, learn to identify and address risky employment practices, and obtain tools and useful tips and strategies to reduce your organization’s exposure to employment-related litigation. This half-day event addresses the issues faced by small business owners, human resource specialists, and managers with an emphasis on California state law. Attendance at this seminar will enrich your professional knowledge and provide an opportunity to speak directly with Jennifer Douglas, employment attorney and partner at Dickenson, Peatmen & Fogarty (DP&F). The seminar materials are an excellent resource to use throughout the year.

In addition to general legal updates on employment matters, the program will provide you the opportunity to hear from two legal experts: Lisa Baiocchi, senior associate at Walter & Prince, a local OSHA compliance law firm, will provide updates to OSHA regulations and answer questions about how best to comply.

Anthony Corso, Workers Compensation Judge for San Francisco’s Division of Workers Compensation, will provide insight into the Workers Compensation Appeals Board process and some practical guidance on navigating the system.
