President’s Letter – What happens next?
California Employer Advisory Council
From the Office of the President, CEAC
Dear CEAC Board of Directors, Regional Vice Presidents, and EAC Leaders,
Over the past year, we have faced a significant transition with the loss of our longstanding partnership with the Employment Development Department. While this change has challenged how we operate, it has not changed who we are or why we exist: to communicate, educate, and participate—delivering timely employer education, connecting our statewide EAC network, and advocating on issues that matter to California employers.
Here’s what’s next, and how we will move forward together:
1) Stabilize and refocus our governance.
The Executive Board will convene to review impacts, prioritize near‑term actions, and formalize a transition pathway. We will reaffirm our mission and clarify the essential services CEAC will continue to deliver statewide, with RVPs engaging local councils to keep communications consistent and timely.
2) Secure operational and financial footing.
We are re‑evaluating our financing model, strengthening sponsorships, and expanding fee‑based education to ensure continuity. Expect transparent updates on budgets, event plans, and statewide revenue initiatives.
3) Communicate consistently and rebuild relationships.
We will launch a CEAC‑wide communication cadence monthly updates to all EACs, a refreshed website presence, and targeted outreach to allied organizations and agencies. Our goal is to both replace lost touchpoints and expand our reach across California’s employer community.
4) Equip and engage our volunteers.
Because EACs are powered by volunteer leaders, we’re prioritizing support: leadership training, templates, and event toolkits. RVPs will lead listening sessions across regions to ensure programming aligns with current employer needs.
5) Modernize our structure and planning.
Where needed, we will update internal policies to codify continuity and risk‑management practices. In parallel, we’ll develop a three‑year strategic plan—grounded in a clear vision, practical goals, and measurable outcomes that keep CEAC strong and resilient.
Our next statewide conference
I’m pleased to share that our next state conference will be held in Sacramento in April 2027. This event will bring our employer community, EAC leaders, and partners together for practical learning, connection, and collaboration. Hold April now—full details, agenda, and registration will follow via the website and RVP communications.
How you can help right now?
- Regional Vice Presidents: brief local EACs, gather feedback, and surface regional sponsorship opportunities.
- All Board Members: amplify communications, recruit volunteers, and submit ideas for conference programming.
Together, we will stand steady, adapt smartly, and grow. Thank you for your commitment, leadership, and service to employers across California.
With appreciation,
Tisha Snyder
President, California Employer Advisory Council
