I would like to address an important change regarding the longstanding partnership between the California Employer Advisory Council (CEAC) and the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD). Since 1980, the CEAC has proudly partnered with the EDD to serve as a vital connection for employers across California, providing timely seminars, promoting business-friendly policies, and ensuring employers are informed and represented at both local and state levels. Together, we have built a network that supports workforce development and fosters strong employer engagement through our local Employer Advisory Councils (EACs). However, due to recent budget cuts, the EDD will no longer be able to support the CEAC. This change will take effect on October 3, 2025. While this marks the end of a significant chapter in our shared history, it is not the end of the CEAC’s mission or its commitment to California’s employers.

I want to assure you that the CEAC will remain active and continue to support all of our local EACs throughout the state. Our organization, with its dedicated board, regional vice presidents, and strong affiliations, will persist in providing valuable resources, seminars, and advocacy for employers. We are committed to maintaining the high standards and services you have come to expect.

In the coming weeks, we will be developing and sharing a new plan for the future of the CEAC. You can expect to receive more details within the next 30 days. In the meantime, to ensure open communication and address any questions or concerns, the CEAC President will be available every Friday at 12:00 pm for one hour, up until October 3, 2025.

In closing, I want to acknowledge the challenges we face as we move forward without the support of the Employment Development Department. While this transition presents uncertainties, it also offers us an opportunity to demonstrate our resilience and commitment to our mission.
