This session is designed to provide practical insight on those skills necessary to conduct an investigation into any type of employee misconduct claim.  The focus of this seminar will be on the following key issues:

  • How to interview the accuser
  • How to ask effective questions
  • How to interview the accused and get “pay dirt”
  • Assessing credibility
  • Arriving at a legally defensible conclusion
  • How to write an effective investigation report

Stephen J. Hirschfeld

Stephen J. Hirschfeld is a founding partner of Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP and is a resident in the firm’s San Francisco office. he is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Employment Law Alliance, the world’s largest network of labor and employment lawyers. For more than 30 yers, Mr. Hirschfeld has practiced exclusively in the areas of labor, employment and higher education law and related litigation. He has substantial experience working on matters involving wrongful termination, sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination, employment law counseling, workplace investigations, collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, and training administrators, managers and employees on creating a respectful work environment that is free of harassment, discrimination and bullying.

Mr. Hirschfeld received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Lawrence University, and his Jurist Doctorate from George Washington University Law School
