San Francisco Employer Advisory Council presents: “Workplace Investigations: HR’s Role in a Fair, Thorough, and Defensible Process”

September 10 @ 08:30 - 10:30 BST

Workplace Investigations: HR’s Role in a Fair, Thorough, and Defensible Process

In this practical session, HR professionals and business leaders will learn how to recognize when a workplace concern may require investigation, define an appropriate investigation scope, gather information through neutral and effective interviews, and document findings in a way that supports fair decision-making.

The program will focus on common investigation challenges HR encounters on the job, including complaints involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, bullying, workplace conduct concerns, reluctant or emotional witnesses, credibility disputes, and documentation pitfalls.

Attendees will leave with a clearer framework for managing investigations that are prompt, thorough, and fair.

Presented by Cara Trapani

Cara Trapani, JD, AWI-CH, is a partner at Buehler Trapani LLP, where she conducts impartial workplace and Title IX investigations for public agencies, private employers, and schools. She has significant experience investigating discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other workplace misconduct.
