San Francisco Employer Advisory Council presents: “Common Compliance Mistakes: What Employers Keep Getting Wrong”

California employers continue to face legal challenges arising from common compliance mistakes, often involving well-established employment laws. This presentation will examine frequently overlooked legal obligations and recurring compliance issues involving employee leave laws, employee classification, workplace investigations, employee discipline, and supervisor conduct. Attendees will gain practical guidance to identify compliance gaps, improve workplace policies and practices, and proactively address potential violations before they result in costly disputes.

Presented by Josue Aparicio

Josue Aparicio is a partner in Hanson Bridgett’s San Francisco office. His practice focuses on representing employers in employment litigation involving claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour class and PAGA actions. He also counsels employers on workplace policies, compliance, employee discipline, and labor relations. Josue is fluent in Spanish, frequently works with Latino-owned businesses, and was named one of Negocios Now’s 2025 Latinos 40 Under 40.
