Employer Advisory Council presents: HR 101: Spot the Red Flags Before They Become HR Problems

Most HR problems do not start in HR. They often begin with an everyday management decision – a difficult performance conversation, a request for time off, a missed meal break, an employee complaint, or a workplace concern that is not properly addressed.

In California, managers and supervisors are often the first people employees turn to when something goes wrong. Yet many managers have never been given practical guidance on what they should handle themselves, what they should document, and when they need to involve HR.

HR 101 for Managers: Spot the Red Flags Before They Become HR Problems is a practical session designed to help supervisors, managers and HR professionals recognize common workplace situations that may create HR or compliance concerns and understand how to respond appropriately.

The session will cover practical California HR essentials related to employee performance, workplace communication, documentation, wage and hour issues, time-off requests, medical concerns, accommodation requests, harassment concerns and employee complaints.

Presented by Kristin Bruce; Director of Human Resources HR to Go
