Details: One of the greatest challenges we face as managers (and as individuals) is dealing with difficult people. This is especially true when it comes to delivering effective, meaningful performance feedback to the most trying people on our teams. In this seminar, we will look at tips, tools, and strategies to help managers improve their overall communication with the most challenging folks on their teams, and at ways to maintain the integrity of the performance management process when delivering difficult feedback. We will discuss how to: • Maintain control in difficult performance conversations. • Ensure that key points are heard and acknowledged. • Maintain your self-esteem and the self-esteem of the other person when conflict arises. • Know when and how to put an end to unproductive communication. • Maintain the objectives and integrity of the performance management process when conversations go awry. • Maintain your sense of humor and personal space when dealing with difficult people.
